It’s all in the details… Part 2

May 20, 2012

Congratulations again to Nora & Eddie who were married yesterday. Their wedding stationery and accessories all designed and created by  Craftbox were absolutely stunning. As promised here is part 2 and the photos of Nora & Eddie’s Wedding Accessories & Gifts for their wedding day. Lots of hours working to complete everything in time and it all looked gorgeous if I do say so myself. I loved this colour scheme and again as with their wedding invitations and stationery everything had to be absolutely perfect in the finer details.

Each guest at Nora & Eddie’s wedding reception was greeted with a matching deluxe place card at their table setting.

Each table had a matching deluxe table number card which was completed with the matching ribboning and numbers on both sides.

Tables also had a couple of the feature Menu Cards letting guests know what delicious cuisine they would be dining on.

Within the foyer of the Reception, guests were greeted with a large Seating Chart, dressed to match the La’mour taupe theme. Nora & Eddie placed the chart into an old black baroque frame to display it in.

At the ceremony, the guests were given matching Order of Service booklets to follow.

At the reception, guests were given an opportunity to write their wishes in the matching Guest Book that was fully handmade with dupioni silk and ribboning.

Here is a close up of the Guest Book…

and the internal …

Lastly, Nora & Eddie wanted a wishing well box for the Reception for their guests to drop their cards into. These beautifully finished wooden boxes are made to the highest standard and then dressed to match your wedding theme. Nora & Eddie’s Wishing Well was finished in the same ivory and taupe theme and looked stunning.

I am certain everything looked gorgeous at the reception and the guests were awed with all the matching decor that Craftbox provided for this wedding. It was an absolute pleasure to work with such a lovely couple and I enjoyed creating everything for them and making their wedding even more beautiful than expected.

My best wishes to Nora & Eddie and may they be blessed with the very best of life, happiness and love.

It’s all in the details…

March 20, 2012

The passed few weeks have been a whirlwind of working hours to complete a huge Wedding order. Lots of late nights and cups of tea, I have finally finished and am so happy with the results. At the bride & groom’s request, this wedding started off with the fact that we had only a little over 4 weeks to design, prepare and assemble… all 202 invites! Usually this would be impossible but it was be sheer fluke I had the next scheduled weddings to start later in March. So I took the job on and am glad I did because it was a lovely result.

Attention to detail is what I love when planning an event and this bride & groom had plenty of it.

Nora & Eddie first came to me with a fair idea of what they wanted. Light colours was the key and everything had to match – all the finer details like the colours of the the ribbons against the colours of the card stocks, the positioning of the text, and down to the colour of the printing was chosen & prepared with great care. The invitation design they chose was the La’mour! Gorgeous in the original black & white but also stunning in Taupe & Ivory which is the colour scheme Nora & Eddie decided on. The taupe was going to be a more subtle version of the original – but it would be just as striking.

And all the details had to be perfect!

Here is a sneak peek at them …

Ribbons and paper swatches had to match perfectly.

The font style and colour had to match the taupe tones… no black ink anywhere. It softened the whole look and made them even more beautiful.

The result is stunning …

And the Information Cards which consisted of a Response (R.S.V.P.) Card, a Directions (Map) Card and a Wishing Well Card were tiered perfectly aligned and tied together with a matching taupe ribbon.

So cute …

Here they all are when untied …

More finer details were portrayed in the envelopes as well. Matching colours and adding a beautiful envelope liner and a wrap around band address lable to each envelope. Just beautiful!

Here is the front view …

and the back view …

Nora and her bridesmaid Ella joined me yesterday to package them ready for sealing. Usually I don’t get a chance to do this, as once the bride & groom recieve their invites, they get to to do all the sealing and sending. In this case, the envelopes required the wrap around band to seal it all together, so they had to be packaged and sealed shut first. It took us all day but it was a huge success and  I had fun spending the day with them. Finally, the invites were done and they all looked like little special packages holding a surprise in them. I am sure Nora & Eddie’s guests will feel like they have recieved a little gift in the mail when they are delivered to them this week.

Let me know what you think?

Stay tuned for part 2 of Nora & Eddie’s Wedding …  the reception stationery, decor, bonbonniere & gifts and I am sure we will stick with the same finer detailing with these too. I will definitely post photos of them later. Be sure to come back and check it out.

Happy New 2012!

January 1, 2012

Just popping in from sunny Gold Coast to wish you all a Happy New Year. As I spend time with my family holidaying together, I realise that this a time of anticipation of what the New Year will bring and it is a quiet time of reflection and wonderment for everything that I have and am grateful for.
Mmmm, what will be my new year resolution for 2012?
Well, I promise myself that I will spend a moment at the end of each day reflecting on all the things that I am grateful for.
Today, I am grateful for my beautiful family, whom I adore. My hubby, Dominic who is my rock and my soul mate whom I love to bits. My gorgeous 13yo daughter Nildene who is so much like me and yet so unique in her own way… She is loving, talented and independent. My handsome little man Stephen, who still keeps my on my toes at 11, yet has the biggest heart of gold. I am grateful to have them in my life, safe and healthy and full of love. I am truly blessed.
Wishing you all an abundance of things to be grateful for and a very happy and blessed New Year. Thank you for a tremendous 2011 and may 2012 bring us all as much success, love, laughter and celebration…

It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas…

December 8, 2011

It is that time of year again… It has been a mad rush to finish orders before the holidays… Everything has run smoothly and each event has been finishing on time and completed with pride. And yet when I take a precious moment in between to just breathe, I am amazed. Today I looked up at the sunny blue skies on this gorgeous December day in Melbourne… and I felt blessed. I have had no time in the past six months to do anything other than keep up with the wedding fever that has been embracing Craftbox! For that I am grateful. I have worked with many beautiful couples and I am proud to have been part of creating their special day… and in the same breath, I am looking forward to a busy and great 2012 as bookings are already being placed. But for now as the holidays are starting very soon, I can sit back and appeciate each moment that I live, laugh & love with my family during this festive season… and boy does it feel like Christmas already… all the trimmings where put up in our home on the weekend, I am planning the Christmas menu already and today I added a few more Christmas presents under the tree. I really love this time of year…

Black & White Parisian

T H E  D E S I G N

As soon as Dean & Sofia contacted me… I was so excited to be part of their wedding! As Dean is my nephew, I was thrilled to help them both realise their dream wedding. Dean proposed to Sofia in the magical romantic city of Paris and so they wanted a touch of Parisian to their wedding invitation design. We went through some ideas and styles together and Dean fancied one style idea & Sofia another… I then created a combined design from their two favourite styles and the result was stunning! They absolutely loved it. I called it La’mour because it symbolises Paris – the city of love. La’mour is a beautiful vintage Paris inspired invite with gorgeous black & antique white ribboning that is carefully handspaced to create the perfect striped background, where a beautiful latte & black trimmed plaque with a stunning damask motif sits with a thick gorgeous satin bow. I also created matching stationery to include the deluxe ribboning style. Everything looked beautiful together and I was honoured that Dean & Sofia were in awe of them.

T H E  D E T A I L S

Matching stationery, accessories & decor made this wedding stunning. The place cards and table number cards were individually handspaced with the same ribboning and finished with a miniture satin bow.  The Seating Chart was also showing off the ribboning design and there was a matching Guest Book handmade in Black & Ivory silk which was placed on the welcome table in the foyer of the venue. Each guest had the opportunity to write a personal message for the happy couple. The Bride wore a stunning Karen Willis design in delicate white lace overlays that was styled with a gorgeous delicate crystal brooch on a black satin waist band that tied at the back with a long flowing bow. The groom was in a classic black suit designed by Paul Smith, London. The delectable chocolate cake was decorated with ivory icing that had a gorgeous damask design and finished with black ribbon and large white flowers. Guests also recieved bonbonniere which were miniture Eiffle Towers in Antique metal, finished with Black & Ivory satin edge organza circles that encased the sugared almonds and a matching tag that was all tied together with a little black satin bow.

Thank you Dean & Sofia for choosing Craftbox to create your stunning wedding invitations for you and a big thank you for having us be a part of your Wedding day. It was an honour and a beautiful day that will stay in my heart forever. Congratulations and all my love to a gorgeous couple!

Christening a baby boy

May 10, 2011

It is with great honour, that my hubby and I are becoming Godparents this week and I have been working on the invites and the event decor, bonbonniere & gifts in the past couple of months.

I was given free design reign on this event… so when I was designing the invitations I wanted to use a French blue & green theme and create it as a pocket card. I made a sample and it looked so cute. The parents of our godson Thanos, loved them and so did I…

Christening Invitation

When it came time to start the production though I decided to add a surprise element at the last moment. The parents had previously mentioned to us that they would order a Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit cake for the Christening… which I thought was a great idea as I loved the Beatrix Potter illustrations & stories…

I thus decided to add a little Peter Rabbit to the invite… just a little touch at the bottom of the print run.

And from there my creative juices started to flow… Peter Rabbit appeared not only on the invite, but he was the bonbonniere, on the christening candle and as a Giant Plush gift. The bonbonniere & gifts were designed and handcrafted by moi and everything tied in and looked fantastic together. Especially adding all of Thanos’ gifts in a little vintage Red Wagon. (These wagons are available to purchase from Craftbox – so contact me for details). The little red wagon just added to the theme nicely and is a great gift to give a little boy.

Now I can’t wait till the special day arrives!

Here are some more great pics.

Vintage Classic

Nadine and Sam wanted a simple yet classic wedding. They both came to me with their colour theme of classic chocolate & ivory in mind and enlisted my help to design their perfect wedding stationery. We went through ideas and styles together and from there we designed the perfect invitations. The result: a beautiful vintage inspired invite with gorgeous peacock ivory designer paper, on a backdrop of chocolate cardstock. They were finished with a mocha satin ribbon, a miniture stunning diamonte square buckle that sprouted long flowy ivory champagne ostrich feathers. The invites and accessories were perfect!

T H E  D E T A I L S

Everything tied in beautifully…  A matching Guest Book handmade in ivory & mocha silk was passed around to all the guests at the venue. Each guest had the opportunity to write a personal message for the happy couple. The Flowergirl wore a pretty ivory organza dress with a mocha satin sash & bow and sparkly sequin ballet slippers. The Maid of Honour wore a gorgeous halterneck dress in mocha satin coupled with champagne satin shoes. The Best Man wore a matching mocha tie against an ivory shirt & a classic black suit. The flowers were bouquets of beautiful fresh ivory and champagne roses. The delectable chocolate cake and cupcakes were decorated with champagne icing and set on a clear glass cupcake stand. And instead of bonbonniere, guests took home pretty ivory boxes housing a cupcake and tied with a chocolate satin ribbon.

Thank you Nadine & Sam for choosing Craftbox to create your gorgeous wedding invitations for you and thank you for inviting us to share your Wedding day. It was an honour to attend. Despite the chilly November weather, your wedding day was absolutely beautiful and very romantic!
