It’s all in the details…

March 20, 2012

The passed few weeks have been a whirlwind of working hours to complete a huge Wedding order. Lots of late nights and cups of tea, I have finally finished and am so happy with the results. At the bride & groom’s request, this wedding started off with the fact that we had only a little over 4 weeks to design, prepare and assemble… all 202 invites! Usually this would be impossible but it was be sheer fluke I had the next scheduled weddings to start later in March. So I took the job on and am glad I did because it was a lovely result.

Attention to detail is what I love when planning an event and this bride & groom had plenty of it.

Nora & Eddie first came to me with a fair idea of what they wanted. Light colours was the key and everything had to match – all the finer details like the colours of the the ribbons against the colours of the card stocks, the positioning of the text, and down to the colour of the printing was chosen & prepared with great care. The invitation design they chose was the La’mour! Gorgeous in the original black & white but also stunning in Taupe & Ivory which is the colour scheme Nora & Eddie decided on. The taupe was going to be a more subtle version of the original – but it would be just as striking.

And all the details had to be perfect!

Here is a sneak peek at them …

Ribbons and paper swatches had to match perfectly.

The font style and colour had to match the taupe tones… no black ink anywhere. It softened the whole look and made them even more beautiful.

The result is stunning …

And the Information Cards which consisted of a Response (R.S.V.P.) Card, a Directions (Map) Card and a Wishing Well Card were tiered perfectly aligned and tied together with a matching taupe ribbon.

So cute …

Here they all are when untied …

More finer details were portrayed in the envelopes as well. Matching colours and adding a beautiful envelope liner and a wrap around band address lable to each envelope. Just beautiful!

Here is the front view …

and the back view …

Nora and her bridesmaid Ella joined me yesterday to package them ready for sealing. Usually I don’t get a chance to do this, as once the bride & groom recieve their invites, they get to to do all the sealing and sending. In this case, the envelopes required the wrap around band to seal it all together, so they had to be packaged and sealed shut first. It took us all day but it was a huge success and  I had fun spending the day with them. Finally, the invites were done and they all looked like little special packages holding a surprise in them. I am sure Nora & Eddie’s guests will feel like they have recieved a little gift in the mail when they are delivered to them this week.

Let me know what you think?

Stay tuned for part 2 of Nora & Eddie’s Wedding …  the reception stationery, decor, bonbonniere & gifts and I am sure we will stick with the same finer detailing with these too. I will definitely post photos of them later. Be sure to come back and check it out.
